You don’t have to go far to find a little Christmas spirit~
Last year, I made a post about enjoying the festive vibes close to home. I wrote about one of my favorite traditions which is the holiday light show at the beach close to home. Sadly, this year I couldn’t make it over to the light show but I did, however, try out a new holiday event that I surprisingly haven’t tried before. This year, I went with my friend Angie to see A Christmas Carol at a local theater.
Despite seeing many movie adaptations of the classic story, this was my first time ever seeing it live on stage. Ironically, I had just seen my friend in Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol which is a different adaptation of the same story told from the perspective of Scrooge’s old partner Jacob Marley. Having seen the story from 2 perspectives, I was able to appreciate both more.
On the night when I saw A Christmas Carol, I went out with Angie and her father and her father’s girlfriend to dinner before the show at this place called the LI Pour House. It was the really cool pub and restaurant that had a beer wall where you got a card and paid by the ounce. I am not a beer drinker, but I still thought it was really cool.
I had a really yummy quesadilla and we all split fried pickles and loaded tater tots. Then we got a cab and headed from the restaurant to the show at a theater called Theatre Three in Port Jefferson. I had only ever been to one show there in the past and it was a concert, so it was nice seeing an actual sit down play there.
The visual effects were really awesome in the production and it was really well acted. I would totally recommend it to anyone living in the local area. After the show, we headed back to the restaurant to get some drinks and hang out a bit more before heading home.
Since this post is rather short, I wanted to slip a little OOTD in there to give you a little more content!
Shirt // Target
Skirt // Forever 21
Tights // Kohls
Boots // Target
Socks // Target
If you can’t tell, I love Target and the color black. I really love this outfit, especially during the holidays. the skirt is incredibly flattering and comfortable and it pairs really nicely with crop top because it is a perfect length. I also love these Chelsea boots from Target that I got for 50% off on Black Friday. Great boots for only $15, who could complain?
Overall, it was a really nice festive way to get in the holiday spirit.
