The Halfway Mark

July 1st 2019

2019 is halfway through so it is time for a little blogging update!

I feel like it has been a while since I have come on here and given a genuine, loosely-structured blog update and with the year halfway through, I figured it was time to talk a little bit about how I feel about the content I have been creating and my plans for the rest of the year.

Well, for starters, I sort of see that this year of blogging has moved in a very self-care direction, however, I don’t intend it to stay that way. That isn’t to say that I am going to stop posting self-care and self-help content all together, but I am going to work on diversifying again because I am always happier and more inspired when I have a lot of variety in my content creation.

I think that the biggest obstacle I am facing with creating exciting and engaging content is that I don’t want to create the same kinds of content as everyone else. As much as I love OOTD posts, travel diaries, and reviews, I feel like I see the same kinds of content everywhere and I am having trouble making it my own. That is why I want to use the rest of this year to experiment with content and things like format and style in order to find a way to take my passions and make them uniquely me.

I would also love to work with brands and local companies to create new content as well. Social Media Marketing is my career and I would love to be able to use the skills I’ve learned to better my own content. I have always had a dream of being my own boss and slowly integrating sponsored content onto my blog would totally be a step in the right direction!

However, for now, I am working on getting a full-time job which brings me to my next blogging goal for the second half of the year which is to stay on top of things. I used to be great at staying ahead of my blogging schedule, having nearly 2 weeks of posts scheduled in advance, but with the move and the general struggle to find inspiration, I haven’t be staying as ahead as I would like to be. I plan to have a brainstorming session ASAP and get myself back on track!

Lastly, I really want to get back into engaging with the community. I have met tons of awesome people through blogging and would love to meet some more. I would love to collaborate or just brainstorm with anyone who is interested because I feel that some of the best content comes from collaboration and putting two minds together.

I am really devoted to making my little corner of the internet the best it can be! Thank you to everyone who has stuck around and has offered support over the past few months!

Here’s to 6 more months of 2019 and to new and exciting content to come!

  1. I can definitely relate to wanting your space in the social media world to be authentic in a space where it feels like everyone is posting the same content as you. You do have the right mindset of experimenting and seeing what comes out of it. Also, I would love to collaborate/brainstorm with you, because what better than 1 head, 2 heads working together 🙂
