Stepping Out Of My Comfort Zone- 2019 Diaries

February 27th 2019

February is coming to a close and it is time to take a look at my month, my growth, and where I want to go from here~

In my first 2019 Diary post, I focused heavily on reflection and growth through looking back at earlier parts of life and past experiences. All of the reflection I experienced in January really contributed greatly to the month of February. I have viewed February as a month of new experiences and stepping out of my comfort zone.

Here are a few notable things that happened this month:

  • I went to an aerial yoga class for the first time
  • I went to my first hockey game
  • I went to Toronto (post coming soon) which was my first really trip out of the country
  • I didn’t do much reading or meditating (sadly)
  • I got more into core exercise
  • It was my birthday 2 days ago (when this post goes up) and I am now 24

Overall, I am pretty pleased with how the month turned out. I can honestly say I took a bit away from my experiences of the month. One is that trying new things is almost always beneficial. I am a believer in calculated risk and trying new things while being smart about it. I am not an incredibly haphazard person so I think that agreeing to try a few new things that I may not have tried on my own, really did me some good.

In terms of my workout goals for the year, I sort of feel like this month wasn’t my strongest month but I also can’t say that I failed too hard either. I didn’t work out every night but I did get a lot more walking in this month than I had in the past and I also started doing a 100 abs challenge on Blogilates channel on YouTube where has been a nice thing to do certain nights when I am feeling up to it.

I think the biggest things this month were Toronto and my birthday. Last weekend, I went to Toronto which was a long car drive away from home and a trip across the border (which made me very nervous). However, I had a really nice time and got to enjoy the sights and take cute pictures that I can’t wait to share on here! You can also check some out on my Instagram— @jessofearth.

So circling back on the goals I made last month, I didn’t finish my book, meditate that often, or do laundry more (I need to do that this weekend actually), but I did keep at my health eating most days except for this past weekend, plan my trip successfully, and spend a little less time on social media.

Here are my goals for this month:

  • Dedicate more time to blogging because I have been falling behind
  • Keep my credit card bill low
  • Get outside more
  • Complete the 100 abs challenge
  • Take more moments of quiet reflection

How has your February been and what are you hoping to get out of March?
