A few small changes can turn your blog posts from typical to extraordinary!
I have been asked quite a few times how I can keep up with my 4 post a week schedule without running out of ideas. Well, I don’t really have a clear cut answer for that because every week varies. But I have developed a series of practices that have helped me develop unique and out-of-the-box ideas for weekly content!
So, if you have been finding yourself stuck and at a loss for new content to create, or if you are just simply bored with the stuff you have been creating, here are a few tips to upping your posting game!
- Try a series- Whenever I feel stuck with finding a blog post idea, I try to think in terms of series. Right now, I have series for wellness, self-care, travel, cooking, fashion, and environmental conservation. So whenever I’m stuck or overwhelmed by the amount of ideas I could have, I turn to a series. By narrowing my focus to a topic like travel, I find that it is easier to think of post ideas! Plus, if I am really at a loss for new ideas, I create a whole new series, like my “My Month in Self-Care” which is something that I can get a few posts out of and lighten my load.
- Take inspiration from the world around you- See something cool on YouTube that you think could lend itself nicely to blogging? Go for it. Go to a museum and learn something you wanna share? Share it. Take a really cool trip and can’t wait to tell all your friends about it? Tell them with a blog post. There are so many ways to get content out of the things you see and hear every single day.
- Talk to people- So many of my blog post ideas come from talks I have with friends, or family, or co-workers, or strangers. If someone says something that really makes you think, write about it. Odds are, there are people out there who will find it just as thought provoking as you do. Plus, just bouncing ideas off friends is super helpful in planning.
- Take ideas to the next level- If you are a fashion blogger, how can you differentiate your posts from other fashion bloggers? Is it through your photos, or your format, or the way you present your fashion in general? By adding unique twists to common ideas, you will create more unique and buzz-worthy content while also utilizing search terms that already have popularity.
Overall, good blog content is just content that you are passionate about. You don’t have to spend tons of money, take the best photos, or have the most earth-shattering ideas to create better, bolder content, you just need to be excited and passionate about what you’re sharing with the world.
