Light In Dark Places

Only rainbows after rain. The sun will always come again.

You can’t have light without darkness. It is the balance that controls the universe. The highs and lows keep everything at an equilibrium. But, there is always light in even the darkest of places, even if we have to make it ourselves.

Finding light is hard sometimes. When you look out the window on a cloudy day and wonder if there are still reasons to get out of bed and your thoughts come up empty, you wonder if finding light is possible. It is because you are alive and you are breathing and despite whatever is happening to you right now there is an entire world out there that you haven’t seen yet. Billions of people whom you have never met, places you’ve never been to, and thousands upon millions of chances to try again. There is always light and there are always chances to start over.

You must have darkness to appreciate the light in your light and you must also be open to seeing the light even when the darkness is overwhelming. Things as small as having perfect change, reading a stimulating book, making the light before it changes, or having a good cup of tea are all little bits of light that can happen any day no matter how dark. You just need to keep your eyes open for small beautiful things because those are the things that light your way.

Take some time each day to look for those tiny light moments. Look for reasons to smile. Take time for yourself.

And remember that other people are looking for light to so be their light. Smile at strangers, hold the door for people, tell your friends you value them, compliment someone. Do something to help light someone’s way.

There is beauty in the small stuff. Don’t miss it~
