If you got it, flaunt it…
Talent is a gift and talent is something that should never be wasted. To discover passion within a hidden talent and developing it into something beautiful is something incredibly precious and wonderful. However, sometimes fear trumps passion and we hold ourselves back out of the idea that we are inadequate. We look at other people who have been working far before us and stacking up our work against theirs to no avail. We feel discouraged by not being the best so we decide we would rather be nothing at all.
I think that needs to stop. Every person brings something incredibly unique to the world and to deprive the world of witnessing your talents just because you fear you are not the best is doing the world a disservice. You don’t have to be the best to share your passions and talents. You don’t want to be the best because if you were then you would have no drive to improve! Let competition motivate you instead of scare you and own you.
If you’re afraid that people will judge your skills, don’t. Liberate your talents. They work so hard for you, show them proudly. Be happy with what you can do well and work hard every day to get better.
I have spent almost 10 years hiding the fact that I love writing because I was afraid people would think I wasn’t very good or interesting until one day I realized that no one actually cared about what I did and I decided that my passion deserved to the see the light day. And believe it or not, I have actually found more passion in my writing when I started sharing it with people. By sharing my writing, I have developed the confidence to say that it is something I would love to do with my future. 10 years ago I would barely feel comfortable with teachers reading my homework and now I want to be published for the world to see.
Putting yourself out there is scary and vulnerable. You need to be open to criticism and prepared to learn and grown.
Don’t waste a gift, set it free~

I love writing as well. It’s the best thing in the world.
