Everyone’s self-care routine is different, so here is a peek into my routine and the routine of a new friend~

One of my many blogging goals of this year has been to collaborate more with fellow creators who have similar values to me and recently, a creator by the name of The Grounded Tree, otherwise known as Lia, reached out to me and I was so pumped to find a way to work with her. Since her site focuses heavily on wellness and self-care, a topic I also care deeply about, we decided that it might be fun to show you all 2 examples of a self-care routine in order to help anyone who is trying to develop their own self-care routine!

Check out Lia’s post on The Grounded Tree after you finished here!

Life is made up of many routines, we have morning routines to start our days off right, night routines to wind down for bed, routines at work or school, and we even develop new routines when on vacation or experiencing changes in life. However, one of the most vital routines that everyone should have is a good self-care routine.

A self-care routine doesn’t have to be consistent, but it does have to serve its purpose which is bringing you back to a state of peace within yourself. For me, no 2 self-care days go the same way, which is why I am going to tell you my routine by listing off a few of my favorite things to do on my self-care days that I often mix and match.

  1. Sleep in (a healthy amount)- On a typical self-care day, I like to let myself sleep in a reasonable amount. I try to set an alarm for between 9 and 9:30 ideally because I feel like it is a good time to get up and make full use of my day without forcing myself up before I feel rested or letting myself oversleep to the point of feeling groggy or lethargic.
  2. Do some yoga- Part of my self-care routine usually involves yoga in some form. Whether it is a breathing practice, gentle stretching, or a full flow, I try to do a little yoga to ease my body and mind.
  3. Take in content- On self-care days, I like to either watch videos, read, or listen to music. Taking in content in a comfortable and non-stressful way really helps me return to a place of calm. I particularly like listening to and watching self-care centered content to get my mind in the space to feel better.
  4. Do a face mask- Aside from the skincare benefits of face masks, the feeling of doing a face mask just feels relaxing. Taking a few moments to slap a mask onto your face and feel like you’re pampering yourself is really magical and I try to do face masks whenever I need a quick wind down from a tough day.
  5. Unplug- Sometimes I like to plug my phone in and leave it in a different room just to go sit outside or watch TV with my family. Just a few hours of separation from the internet really does a lot to clear my head and let myself focus on me.
  6. Get out into nature- My favorite thing to do on a self-care day when the weather is nice is to get outside and take a walk. Getting connected with natures does wonders in helping you get connected with yourself.

What is part of your self-care routine!? And don’t forget to check out Lia’s routine on The Grounded Tree for a little more inspiration!

  1. All of these are such great self care routine ideas! I also love to spend time outdoors and read. I’m working on my summer reading list at the moment. It’s been such a nice way for me to practice self care. x
