A quick chat about December and the new year ahead~

Hello all!

This is my first real personal update post of Blogmas. You see, most of my posts so far have been pre-written in order to help me not lose my mind this month. However, I always like to take a quick moment and step in  to talk about how things are going when I get into a long stream of pre-written posts.

So, we are about halfway through December and the month has flown by. Last year, I feel like I had already done so many more things by this point in the month, but this year everything feels super rushed. And it is crazy because last year I had the same job and I even had yoga training on top of that and I STILL managed to get more done last year.

Nonetheless, I still feel like this month has been pretty nice so far. I have spent time with friends and loved ones, seen a couple of Christmas shows, gone to the city, and already completed one gift exchange. I think there is just a weird vibe around the holidays this year because this is the last holiday season I will spend in the town I grew up in and in my childhood home surrounded by my friends. I am looking forward to starting new traditions next year, but there is something so bittersweet about how fast this year is moving.

I have found myself spending a lot of time looking towards 2019 lately. There is something that seems so magical about a new calendar year. I think that it is healthy to split up years as different eras of existence. Some people do it with their personal birth years, but for me, I get more sentimental about the change of calendar years. I like to believe that everyone is starting on page 1 of a 365 page book on January 1. I also like to believe that we can leave behind our troubling habits and feelings in the previous year and start fresh during a new year.

This upcoming year is going to be a fresh start in so many ways. I think I am most excited for all of the new adventures I am going to go on not only through traveling, but also moving and getting a new job and surrounding myself with new people and a new place filled with experiences that can offer me new traditions.

But, most of all, I am excited for the content I will continue putting out this month for you all to (hopefully) enjoy!

See you tomorrow!

Jess~
