Enjoy the simple pleasures in life; warm food, the smell of books, and comfy fall outfits~
One of my favorite places to explore is Huntington Village. It is a small village about 20 minutes from where I work and it is home to various independent shops and restaurants. My friend, Michaella, and I often visit after long days at work, whether it be for some Ben & Jerry’s, good burgers, or, on this day, yummy ramen.
We went to a ramen place called MB Ramen which is relatively new to the area, but a really great addition to the preexisting restaurants in the area. We started with the Bao Buns, which Michaella raved about the entire week before we went. They are little buns with pork belly, pickled ginger, a cucumber, and spicy sauce (I think I got that right) and I could have downed an entire order myself.
After the buns we got MB Ramen which was pork belly with mushrooms, a soft egg, fish cakes, green onion, and I believe some garlic. It was so good and super satisfying on a chilly fall day. I am also happy to report that I am getting better at eating the noodles with chopsticks!
After ramen, we headed over to one of my favorite bookstores called The Book Revue. It is a local shop and it has a very cozy small town feel to it. It features new and used books and even books by local authors which I find to be really cool and charming. I have had a $50 gift certificate there for over a year now that I have been dying to spend and yesterday was the day to do it. I picked up 3 books:
- A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle
- Originals by Adam Grant
- The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson
I have been in the self-help and personal growth kind of mood so I really wanted to load up on some good reading material to enjoy for the rest of the year! I have been feeling particularly motivated to get my shit together lately, so these books should be a huge help.
Lastly, here is what I wore on my little after-work excursion!
Dress // Forever 21
Sweater // Forever 21
Socks // Kohl’s
Boots // DSW
Bag // Primark
We ended our evening out with a warm beverage from the bookstore cafe and we on our way home after that! I love unwinding and exploring after work and can’t wait until my next Huntington field trip!

[…] Blogtober Day 26: Noodles, A Cozy Bookstore, & An OOTD – I really dig these follow me around types of posts and I am hoping to do a lot more of them during the Christmas season. One reason is because I love documenting my days that I do little fun things with friends. The other reason is that I find posts like these to be a bit more interesting than plain OOTDs because you get the context of where I wore the outfit and what I was doing! […]
