The best way to get into the spirit of the season is to surround yourself with your favorites!

I find that starting a new season off with reviewing my favorites is a great way for me to get excited for the season to come! Here are just a few of my fashion, snack, music, and product favorites for fall!

Fashion

  1. Plaid and Flannel-
Flannel are my favorite fall staple almost to an obsessive degree. I own close to a dozen flannels and could easily wear them every single day of fall. My favorite places to get affordable flannels are Forever 21 and Thrift Stores! I personally prefer thrifting more though, because the flannels are usually more broken in, however stores have really been upping their game with how many ways they can style flannel. [1][2][3]

  2. Warm Tones-
I live for warm tones in the fall. Burnt oranges, reds, and browns make me feel so connected to nature and mustard and maroon are two essential colors in my wardrobe. I find that warm tones with neutral pieces and denim pair super nicely. [1][2][3][4]

  3. Oversize Cardigans-
I view cardigans as the gateway drug to sweaters. Since fall is a tad warmer than winter, I find that I gravitate towards cardigans because they are great for layering. They are also great transitional pieces. [1][2][3][4][5]

  4. Houndstooth-
Houndstooth has become really big thing this year and I am super excited about it. I feel like it is a pattern that can be made to look professional, preppy, or edgy based on the pieces you pair with it. Plus it looks good on almost any garment. [1][2][3]

Snacks

  1. 20180908_142007
    Candy Corn-
I know there are so many haters of candy corn, but that just means more candy corn for me. I have loved candy corn since I was a kid and I still get so excited to see it get put out on the shelves. I personally love the original and the harvest mix with the chocolate ones and the pumpkins.
  2. 20180922_130637.jpg
    Apples-
It is prime apple season during the fall and living on Long Island just a short drive to local farms, I have grown to appreciate a good fall apple when I see one.

  3. Apple Cider and Apple Cider Donuts-
I know it is a bit of an “apple overload”, but apple cider season is my favorite season. I live for going to farms and cider mills for cider and a good donut.

  4. Halloween cookies-
The little cookies you buy pre-cut in the supermarket with the Halloween shapes on them are my favorite. I really love just popping them in the oven to snack on during a movie with friends.

  5. muffin.jpg
    Pumpkin Muffin-
I may be allergic to Starbucks’ pumpkin spice, but I am not allergic to a good Pumpkin Muffin for Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts. They really put me in a fall mood even though I don’t eat them that often.

Music- Artists

  1. The Lumineers
  2. Ryn Weaver
  3. Zella Day
  4. Bon Iver
  5. Mumford and Sons
  6. Daughter
  7. Harry Styles (No shame)
  8. Foster the People

Products

  1. Moisturizer- My skin always gets super dry at the start of a new season.
  2. Rain boots- These are particularly useful in the unexpected weather while trekking through fields and hiking trails. I think these were also in my spring favorites too!
  3. Reusable Straws- I plan on buying my first pack of reusable straws ASAP to make them a year round favorite!

What are some of your favorites this season!?
