January 19th 2018
It is 2018 and you’re getting ready to workout and find the “new you”…but is your wardrobe ready?!
It is 2018 and it is the time where everybody starts hitting the gym to get that new “fit body” they always dreamed of!…However, after the first few weeks, many people ditch the gym and go back to their usual life giving it the old “better luck next year” without giving it much thought.
But that won’t be you this year! In my opinion, one way to feel good while working out is by looking good! If I wear a cute outfit to yoga then I am twice as motivated to kick absolute butt in class that day. So in honor of the first Fashion Friday of the new year, I am going to show you a little OOTD I wear for yoga but also on a chill day with friends to show you that you can work out and still be comfortable and cute!
Shirt // My yoga studio’s merch
Leggings // TJ Maxx (I believe the brand is 90 Degree by Reflex)
Flannel // Forever 21
Sports Bra (not pictured sorry) // Marshalls
Sneakers // Vans
This is one of my favorite studio to street looks because it is a hint of edginess while being comfortable and functional. I got the t-shirt when I signed up for my yoga studio 2 years ago and I have worn it to death. I find that slogan tees are perfect for staying motivated. Forever 21 has a lot of inexpensive fitness slogan tees to choose from.
I think wearing what you want to embody helps you get there. It is sort of like a constant reminder of why you’re doing what you’re doing! I have shirts that have slogans about wellness and peace and breathing and I can say that they’ve really helped me embody what I want to be.
I also want to take a minute to talk about these leggings because 90 Degree by Reflex is probably my favorite brand of leggings out there (not sponsored, but would totally take any sponsorship opportunity they could offer because I love their leggings that much). The prices are reasonable and they are so comfortable.
Investing in comfortable workout clothes is one of my biggest tips to sticking to your health and fitness resolutions. Wearing clothes that I constantly have to fix takes me out of my zone. These leggings stay up and move with me which I love. They are also very flattering which is why I love wearing them out on the street as well.
I wore a flannel with this look because it is great for an added layer without looking too slouchy. I definitely notice the difference in my confidence and energy when I walk into the studio in a flannel or nice fitting cardigan than when I walk in with an old ratty sweatshirt.
Overall, the major point I’m trying to get across is when you look good, you feel good. Wear things that make you excited to work out. Invest in yourself. Buy clothes that you know will help you feel comfortable in the gym and out in the world. Wear what you want to embody!
