OOTD: That One Outfit I Forgot To Post

Sometimes I take pictures of outfits I like…then forget to post them for a few weeks

So, it is true, I took this set of photos some time in mid-October and never got around to posting them. I think it was a mix of a lot of Halloween content i already had planned filling up my schedule and the lack of inspiration to post an OOTD.

However, I ADORE this outfit because it seemed a little out there when I put it together because none of the colors matched, but it totally worked in my opinion! I tried to stick to a Fall color palette and aimed to put together an outfit where cool and warm tones went together harmoniously!

Sweater // Kohls

Jeans // My Mom (Sorry, she never remembers where she buys anything ever)

Boots // Forever 21

Jacket // Plato’s Closet

Scarf // Plato’s Closet

So if I had to choose what part of this outfit I loved most, I couldn’t. I feel like the outfit just fit so nicely together that attributing the way it turned out to just one piece would be unfair to the rest. However, I remember being the most excited about the jacket and the scarf.

I got both from a thrift store called Plato’s Closet. They are more like a trendy resale shop than just your average Goodwill. They buy trendy clothing pieces and resell them at a markdown. You can find everything in there from Urban Outfitters and Free People to brands from other countries that you may have never even heard of. They really embody the phrase “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure” and I am not being sponsored to say that…even though if Plato’s Closet wanted to sponsor me then I am totally, 100% down.

The jacket was from some brand that I believe must have been sold in China because in lieu of an English brand name was Chinese characters. I already thought the jacket was super unique but when I saw that it came from an unfamiliar brand, I was even more intrigued to grab it because then it would be purely my own! The scarf also has a bit of a cultural background in that it was made in Italy. Aside from being unique by location, the color was also something I really loved and haven’t been seeing in stores much this season.

I think burnt orange is one of my favorite Fall colors (behind mustard of course). I also feel like the burnt orange of the scarf brought out the orange-ish tan of the boots which helped bring the warmth throughout the outfit.

I chose not to accessorize beyond the scarf because I feel like it would have made the outfit way too busy.

Overall, I feel like taking a bit of a risk style-wise with the outfit really paid off because I created something that felt incredibly unique and fun while still being trendy and comfortable!

  1. Love this. Super cute outfit. Don’t know if they have this store where you live but a really affordable store I shop at sometimes is DD’s Discounts. Amazing deals if you’re on a tight budget. 😊 Definitely inspired me to post a blog post on a comfy fall outfit ❤ I’ve done it on my instagram blogs but have not gave it a chance on here 😑 lol
