Using what I’ve learned in school to make my own life better~
I have been working in social media marketing for the past almost 4 years. I don’t talk about my career much on my blog because I honestly don’t like to let that define who I am on this space, however, I am beginning to see that I need to start utilizing what I have learned through working in order to help myself grow my personal brand.
As I venture into the corporate world and begin working full time, I am starting to realize how much I really want to build my own brand and begin a transition into being my own boss. I know that success doesn’t come overnight and without hard work, but I think that any progress I can make would be a great stepping stone into one day building something I can truly be (more) proud of.
That is why I am planning to get more into my social platforms as a means of creating a more well rounded JessofEarth brand. I post on here 3 days a week and it has been going pretty well, however, there are times where I want to share things that aren’t worth a full blog post. For example, I may find a cool clothing store I want to check out, wear a cute outfit I really want to share, or discover a product or brand whose message resonates with me. That is where Instagram comes in.
I really love posting about things I enjoy or even just my day to day life, and I think that getting more involved on Instagram will do wonders for creating a unified brand overall. I really want to turn my blog Instagram into a source for cool content and information while tying it back to the stuff I post on here!
And with my background in social media, I think I could be doing a way better job and dedicating way more time to it than I have been. So, coming soon, I will be trying to build and execute a new strategy in order to make my Instagram the best place it can be and hopefully a space I can better connect with some of you on things we share interest in.
Here are just a few changes I plan to make to how I post on my Instagram:
- Developing a loose posting schedule
- Creating a mix of personal content and informative content
- Using my stories more in a neat, organized, and informational way
- Use Instagram as a way to connect with bloggers in the community through shared interests
- Get more creative with hashtags and post formats to tap into new audiences and find new people to follow
- Work with more sponsors that I support
- Advocate for causes I feel personally connected to (because no matter the size of my following, I want to use my platform to support causes I care about)
I know that this is going to take quite a bit of work and planning, but I am hoping to get started in really building a brand more than just an aesthetically please feed of pictures!
Thank you all for your ongoing support and if you want to connect on Instagram, just follow me at @JessofEarth and comment that you have come from my blog and I will follow you back!
